KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - The chief executive officer of the Menteri Besar Kelantan Incorporated (PMBK), Abdul Ariffahmi Abdul Rahman, yesterday denied that Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat had instructed him to resign.

Ariffahmi, who is Nik Aziz's son-in-law, also slammed the former PMBK corporate liaison officer Syed Azidi Syed Abdul Aziz, calling him a liar and a "film director".

"I have not resigned and Tok Guru (Nik Aziz) has never asked me to resign. In fact I am working as usual, attending meetings in the morning. Tok Guru had not even directed his special officer to prepare for any announcement."

He was responding to a recent posting by Syed Azidi or Kickdefella on his blog that Nik Aziz, on Tuesday, had asked Ariffahmi to leave PMBK.

Syed Azidi also wrote that Nik Aziz was expected to make a big announcement soon, purportedly to make public his son-in-law's resignation.

Ariffahmi dismissed the claim, saying that he had called Nik Aziz's special officer twice yesterday but was told that Nik Aziz had not mentioned anything about the announcement.

"He (Syed Azidi) was lying. He can say anything he wants, he's a film director," Ariffahmi said, sarcastically.

When contacted, Syed Azidi laughed off Ariffahmi's justification, describing him as being "too predictable".

"He is in a denial syndrome. A lot of people have asked him to resign, including his close friend Kelantan Pas youth information chief Dr Rosli Allani but their attempts had failed because he refused to step down."
