PUTRAJAYA - A total of 10 new six-car trains will be added to Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad's (KTMB's) Komuter train fleet by the end of March.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said the new trains were needed to ease congestion on the current trains, which he said were running over-capacity.
This is in tandem with work to build more than 6,000 new parking lots at 18 LRT and KTM Komuter stations in the Klang Valley to encourage migration to public transport.
Kong was speaking at a cheque presentation ceremony here Thursday to PKNS for RM3mil, to build 532 new parking lots at the Shah Alam Komuter station.
