Man hit by MRT on Christmas Day

On Christmas morning, someone jumped onto the tracks at Kranji MRT Station, disrupting the southbound train service between Yew Tee and Woodlands MRT stations at 9.43 am.

Personnel from the police and Civil Defence were on site to investigate the incident but no one was found, according to SMRT.

In later incident, a man was hit by a train at Marsiling MRT Station at 11.12 am, resulting in a disruption of the northbound train service between Woodlands and Kranji.

Police investigations are in progress.

SMRT says that passengers who were unable to complete their journeys due to the disruptions can claim a full fare
refund from the Passenger Service Centre in any of the 51 SMRT stations, within the next three working days.
