Johor police to help S'pore hunt for JI fugitive

JOHOR police will cooperate fully with Singapore to hunt down escaped terrorist Mas Selamat Kastari.

Johor police chief Datuk Mokhtar Shariff said on Monday that photographs and details of the wanted leader of the Singapore Jemaah Islamiah network have been put up at all the entry points into Singapore and also circulated to all duty officers.

'We have also explained to the police on duty that if Mas Selamat was detected, he must be detained,' he told reporters in Johor Baru on Monday.

Mas Selamat fled from the Whitley Road Detention Centre last Wednesday and has been on the run for six days.

Datuk Mokhtar said Singapore had made an official request to Malaysia to help look out for Mas Selamat.
