Two drug syndicates were busted and 11 other drug offenders were arrested by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers on October 3. All 11 will be charged with drug trafficking.

Officers spotted a drug courier making a transaction with a Chinese man at Eunos MRT station, and arrested the Chinese man while trailing the 19-year-old courier to Lorong 37 Geylang..

When the courier met the main drug trafficker and two other men, CNB officers made their move and arrested them.

They also seized drugs like heroin, Ketamine and Ecstasy tablets worth over S$500,000. In addition, officers confiscated S$42,600 worth of cash, suspected to be drug proceeds.

The CNB said in a press statement that the 39-year-old trafficker resisted arrest with a violent struggle, but was eventually subdued.

Another team of officers raided a unit at Block 72 in Geylang Bahru and arrested the trafficker's girlfriend at the same time.

Another 43-year-old local syndicate leader was also arrested while he was waiting for the trafficker to show up.

Officers then raided his drug store at Bedok Reservoir View and arrested another four people who had helped the syndicate leader to pack and distribute the drugs.
