Yet another child got his Crocs slipper stuck in the escalator, reported the STOMP website (The Straits Times Online Mobile Print).
Fortunately for the Indian boy, he escaped unhurt.
The incident reportedly happened at 9.15pm yesterday at Tiong Bahru Plaza.
Ben, who alerted STOMP to the incident, said in his email, "Luckily, he got his feet out in time but was confused and at lost what to do next."
"So, he removed the other Crocs and threw it into the waste bin and walked away bare-footed."
The maker of Crocs is progressively introducing "safety information" tags with its resin sandals, which are hugely popular with adults and children, said The Sunday Times.
This is an effort to alert buyers of safety practices on escalators.
By its Spring collection in 2009, the Colorado-based firm will have escalator-safety messages on all its sandals, including those sold here in Singapore.
- Safety tips will include:
- Stand facing forward in the centre of the step
- Step on and off carefully
- Do not touch sides below handrail
- Avoid the sides of the steps where shoe entrapment can occur
- Supervise children at all times
