Fish freed to mark CNY

ABOUT 1,388 fish were released into Bedok Reservoir on Sunday as part of the Aljunied GRC's Chinese New Year celebrations.

Over 300 residents gathered to release the fish, with more enjoying other activities such as a bird-singing competition and martial arts performances.

As Sunday was also 'ren ri', the seventh day of the Lunar New Year which celebrates everyone's birthday, grassroots leaders also cut a giant birthday cake.
