S'porean heads ICAO body

A CIVIL Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has been appointed as head of air navigation matters at the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

From Jan 1, Mr Mervyn G Fernando, who currently serves in the Air Navigation Commission (ANC), will take on the role of president for a year.

The commission comprises 19 technical experts, including pilots, air traffic controllers and aeronautical engineers, who are elected by members of the ICAO council.
