IT'S fresh and zippy - and now it's ready for a makeover.
From Monday, my paper readers can expect a classier and more elegant daily with more pages and beefed-up business and lifestyle content.
Armed with a new tagline, "The Best of Both Worlds", the paper, published by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), will strengthen its bicultural focus by providing a comprehensive platter of hard news, analyses and commentaries in the English section, as well as easy-reading lifestyle stories in the Chinese section.
Mr Felix Soh, SPH's digital media editor and consulting editor of my paper, said: "The new look is, in a way, a natural evolution of my paper's look, feel and content. As the newspaper grows and matures, so must its look and content."
Mr Yeow Kai Chai, my paper (English) editor, added: "It is heartening to see how much the paper has grown and how readers are responding to our bilingual approach."
This can be seen in the results of the 2009 Nielsen Media Index released last month.
my paper was the star performer, recording the biggest rise in readership reach among all local papers - the number of people who read the paper daily rose to 8.4 per cent this year, up from 5.8 per cent last year.
This translates to a growth of almost 50 per cent in its readership base. The paper is now read by about 320,000 people daily.
It also drew more professionals, managers, executives and businessmen (PMEBs): Some 13.7 per cent of them read the paper this year, up from 8.8 per cent last year.
That's why the revamped paper will feature more extensive coverage of business and personal finance, ranging from the latest market movements to economic reports.
To celebrate my paper's relaunch, readers stand to win a HP Mini 110 netbook worth $700 every day, from next Monday to Thursday, in its My Paper Word Search Contest. One lucky reader also stands to win the grand prize of $1,000.
For now, readers like accounts manager Jonathan Tan, 29, are looking forward to the new-and-improved my paper. "my paper is concise and easy to read, with a good balance of hard and soft news," he said.
"I'm sure the new version will take these things to a new level."
We are keeping the new look under wraps until Monday, so make sure you get a copy.
