According to an update at 2pm Tuesday, August 31, the reward money is now increased to $3,400 because The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals have received more donations.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the death of a Pomeranian bashed to death on August 18, 2010.
This is an increase from the original $1,000 reward.
According to the SPCA, as of Friday, August 27, no one has yet to come forward to identify the person responsible for killing the dog.
In a written statement to AsiaOne, SPCA said both SPCA and the police have spoken to witnesses who were at the scene that night but no one can clearly remember what the abuser looks like.
"To our knowledge, even though there were several witnesses at the scene, no pictures were taken capturing the crime."
Spokesperson Ms Deirdre Moss said, "the SPCA sincerely hopes that through the offering of the reward money - some kind soul will come forward with the evidence needed to apprehend the abuser without delay."
The Pomeranian was found dead at Block 267B, Compassvale Link and is believed to have been beaten to death.
A hawker from the coffeeshop told Shin Min Daily News that a man in his 40s had earlier approached him, asking to borrow a knife. The man had been leading the dog.
When the hawker turned him down, the man led the dog to the void deck and bashed it repeatedly against a wall.
