Furious mum slaps teacher

KANGAR, MALAYSIA: The mother of a 13-year-old student slapped a teacher here on Monday after being called to the school over her son's misconduct.

Upon reaching the school, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Perlis, the woman learnt that the teacher had slapped her son about 10.40am for misbehaving.

Furious, the woman then slapped the teacher in the principal's office where they were meeting to settle the issue.

"When the woman arrived at the principal's office, a heated argument broke out between the 28-year-old male teacher and the woman that resulted in the teacher being slapped by her," said Kangar district police chief Superintendent Abdul Rahman Mohd Noordin.

Rahman confirmed that there were police reports lodged on Monday by both parties at the Kangar police station.

He also said the case would be forwarded to the deputy public prosecutor's office for further action.

However, he said, the police would record statements from the student, his mother and also students who witnessed the incident.
