KOTA KINABALU: Police have detained a primary school teacher in the east coast Tawau district after his wife lodged a report claiming that he had sodomised one of the pupils there.

The wife found out about her husband's activities earlier this week after discovering a disc containing recordings of what he had been doing with the pupil.

When contacted, Tawau police chief Asst Comm Jaafar Mohd Yusuf confirmed the arrest. He however declined to elaborate further.

Meanwhile, a man was killed and four women seriously injured when the mini bus they were travelling in was involved in a three-vehicle collision along kilometre 55 of the Tawau-Kunak trunk road on Wednesday.

The dead man was identified as Abdul Habib, 40, while the injured passengers were Saruji Appy, 54, Dayang Azrianan Datu Halun, 25, Halimah Hassan, 38, and Naimang Arshad, 52.
