7 dead in China after mosque site collapses

>Beijing, China - At least seven people were killed and four others seriously injured after a mosque that was being built in northwest China collapsed, state media reported.

The number of casualties from the collapse on Thursday may increase as there could be more people buried in the rubble, Xinhua news agency reported on Friday.

The mosque was being built in a town of 18,000 people from China's ethnic Hui minority in Qinghai province, Xinhua said. -- AFP
