No soap opera? I divorce you!
Thu, Nov 19, 2009
The Star/Asia News Network

A woman in India obtained a divorce after eight years of marriage because her husband had barred her from soap operas.

A Mumbai High Court judge ruled that "not allowing the spouse to watch TV serials amounted to cruelty" and was reason enough to grant a divorce. The husband has filed an appeal.

The wife also said her husband had insulted her, refused to have sex with her and had spat on her.
