A migrant worker won 5 million yuan (S$ 1,030000) by using his daughter's birthday number to buy lottery tickets in Jiangsu province, Yangtse Evening Post reported Thursday.

"My daughter was born at 7 am, Nov 26, 2006," said Hong, the lottery winner. He used 0611267 to make a fixed lucky number to buy lottery tickets for three years, with the intention of only marking it as a special gift for his daughter.

Hong says he'll continue to buy lottery tickets but would by three groups using every family member's birthday from now on.

He and his wife are now planning to make good use of their lucky fortunes.
