BOC Aviation, which is wholly-owned by the Bank of China, said on Thursday it has signed leasing agreements involving seven Boeing 737-800 planes with two Chinese carriers and a Japanese airline.

The Singapore-based firm will lease four of the Boeing planes to Hainan Airlines, two to Shandong Airlines and one to Japanese carrier Skymark Airlines, BOC Aviation said in a statement.

The two Chinese carriers will take delivery of the new planes in 2010 while the Japanese airline will get its Boeing plane in 2009, the company said.

BOC Aviation is Asia's leading aircraft leasing company with a fleet of over 70 planes in service with 30 airlines globally.

It was formerly known as Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise until the Bank of China bought the company for US$965 million (S$1.4 billion) in 2006. -- AFP
