Japan stocks down, tracking falls on Wall St

>TOKYO - Japanese stocks fell on Monday, tracking falls on Wall Street after fresh data pointed to a surge in United States inflation.
Bank shares such as Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc were under selling pressure on lingering credit concerns.

As of 8.01am, the benchmark Nikkei was down 0.5 per cent at 15,433.30 and the broader Topix also down 0.5 per cent at 1,493.71. -- REUTERS
