SINGAPORE - Singapore share prices closed 3.50 per cent lower on Wednesday, tracking regional losses after fresh US economic data added to recession fears, dealers said.

They said many traders were on the sidelines ahead of the long Lunar New Year break which began after a half-day's trading Wednesday.

The blue chip Straits Times Index was 106.33 points lower at 2,932.09.

The market is to reopen next Monday
