STI higher at midday

SINGAPORE shares were higher at mid-day on Thursday with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 27.30 points, or 0.99 per cent higher, at 2,772.34.

About 527 million shares were traded.

Gainers beat losers 182 to 170.
