S'pore shares close 0.5% up

SINGAPORE, Nov 19, 2009 (AFP) - Singapore shares closed 0.5 percent higher Thursday, cheered on partly by the city-state's recovery from a recession, dealers said.

The blue-chip Straits Times Index rose 13.75 points to 2,758.79.
