Morgue class as sentence for drink driving

LOS ANGELES - ACTRESS Lindsay Lohan will take a short class at a morgue as part of her sentence for drunken driving and cocaine possession, her lawyer said on Friday.

Lohan, 21, already has served less than two hours in jail and completed 80 hours of community service at the Red Cross since she pleaded guilty to the drinking and drug charges stemming from a July car chase and a crash in Beverly Hills in May, lawyer Blair Berk told reporters.

The star of 'Freaky Friday and 'Mean Girls' also has completed part of a court-ordered programme at a hospital that aims to show drivers the consequences of drinking and driving.

She will attend a similar class at a morgue in June, Berk said.

Media reports on Thursday had said Lohan would work in both a morgue and a hospital emergency room.

After her arrest in July, Lohan spent more than two months in a rehabilitation centre in Utah. She had been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for about a year.

In November, she spent 84 minutes in a Los Angeles jail in compliance with a 24-hour sentence. Because of overcrowding in Los Angeles jails she was released early. -- REUTERS
