Mark Richmond to quit radio

Very soon, you will no longer hear Mark Richmond's voice over the radio waves.

The Straits Times reported that the he has resigned from MediaCorp Radio and will leave at the end of the month.

Having been heard on Perfect 10, Class 95FM, Gold 90.5FM and Rediffusion, the 37-year-old, who is currently programme director for 987FM.

He told The Straits Times that his decision to leave came about because he was feeling frustrated, but 'there was no bad blood or anything like that'.

He added: "My role has always been a creative one. There're tons of ideas but nothing coming to fruition".

But leaving was also difficult, as Mark likened it to " breaking up with someone after 25 years of being together."

He will be hosting Today In Beijing, a daily highlights show of the Olympic Games on Channel 5 from Saturday, but is not considering a career with MediaCorp TV.
