Aljunied-Hougang Town Council will not raise fees

The Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) has issued a statement indicating that it has no plans to raise its Service & Conservancy Charges (S&CC).

In a statement posted on its website, the Town Council noted that seven other Town Councils said they would be raising service and conservancy charges in the face of cost pressures and inflation.

Chairman Sylvia Lim said in the statement: "We are mindful that in the current inflationary environment, residents are similarly facing cost increases on their own as well."

The AHTC said it will continue to monitor costs closely, and added that it would first attempt to exhaust all means to reduce expenditures through better efficiency before considering a review of its S&CC.
