Erra Fazira is a soccer mum

By Noorsila Abd Majid

Malaysian singer/actress Erra Fazira is living her dreams to be a soccer mum. The self-proclaimed futsal fanatic is now the host of Tiger Futbol Starz, a new reality show for children on Astro Ria that aims at unearthing young football talents in the country.

"My football players are between the age of 10 and 13 years old," enthused the former beauty queen. "A lot of them miss home because they've got to stay in the Tiger Futbal Starz academy in Bukit Jalil for two weeks for intensive training. So the biggest challenge for me is to comfort them when they cry."

"I've also got to give them words of encouragement when they fail to make the cut during each elimination round. I don't want the kids to lose hope because they're really talented."

There are currently 21 junior players under Erra's wings. The children qualified for the Tiger football academy after going through a series of stringent selection sessions around the country, organised by former national players, Azlan Johar, K. Sanbagamaran and Leong Hong Seng.

When teased whether the kids actually call her "Auntie Erra" on the show, the 36-year-old hot mama laughed, and said"No, they still call me Kak Erra (big sister Erra). I insist."
