TALK about American Idol mania.
You probably know that Adam Lambert, the runnerup last season - Season 8 - will take to the stage at Universal Studios in Resorts World Sentosa on Friday.
Yesterday, news broke that Idol's first champ, Kelly Clarkson, will perform a show at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 27.
The 27-year-old will be here to promote her latest album, All I Ever Wanted, released last year. The album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts in the United States, has spawned hits like My Life Would Suck Without You and Already Gone.
Clarkson is the highest-selling Idol alumnus, with over 23 million records sold.
The Texan-born singer has also won two Grammy awards, for her sophomore album, Breakaway.
She was last in the region for the MTV Asia Aid concert in Bangkok in 2007.
Her tour will take her to Taiwan, Indonesia and China, according to the singer's official website.
Best of all, fans can request a meet-and-greet session with Clarkson, via her website. But this has not been confirmed yet for fans in Singapore.
Clarkson is the latest Idol announced to visit Singapore. Last season's winner, Kris Allen, played a show to an audience of about 800 at Zirca Mega Club last month.
And Lambert's arrival is causing a furore among his fans. Fan website SingaporeGlamberts is abuzz with news on his arrival, as well as how to get tickets to his gig.
David Archuleta, the runner-up in the previous season, Season 7, was in Singapore last April. An autograph session for the star was jam-packed with fans wanting a piece of the singer.
Kelly Clarkson performs at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 27 at 8pm. Tickets from $60 to $170 are on sale through Sistic (tel: 6348-5555, www.sistic.com.sg).
