Jurong molester nabbed after members of public give chase

SINGAPORE - Four members of the public chased down a 47-year-old man suspected of molesting a 17-year-old woman on Monday (Nov 9), leading to his arrest.

The teenager was reportedly molested at Jurong West Street 41 at 7pm, and two members of the public immediately gave chase, the police said in a statement Wednesday.

Two other public-spirited members of the public also helped to detain the suspect, and he was then arrested by police officers from the Jurong Division.

Investigations against the suspect are ongoing. The offence of Outrage of Modesty carries a jail term of up to two years, or a fine and can also be liable to caning, upon conviction.
