A 42-year-old man died from severe injuries after falling from a hotel in Sentosa on Tuesday (March 24) afternoon.

The deceased was a regular patron of the casino at Resorts World Sentosa, and came from a well-to-do family, Lianhe Zaobao reported.

His family members collected his body from the morgue at Singapore General Hospital on Wednesday morning.

One of them, who did not want to be named, said that she only learnt about the incident through the police.

"We're very shocked by his death, but we have no idea what had happened," she told the Chinese daily.

The police said they found the man lying motionless at 8 Sentosa Gateway at 1.39pm on March 24.

He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The case has been classified as unnatural death and investigations are ongoing.
