Red Cross appeals for donations

The Singapore Red Cross will disburse $50,000 worth of relief items and emergency supplies in response to the earthquake that struck Nepal on Saturday.

In a statement yesterday, the Red Cross said it will also launch an urgent public appeal for the relief and recovery efforts in Nepal. The Singapore Government has contributed $100,000 as seed money in reponse to the appeal.

Cash:

The Red Cross will be accepting donations made in person starting today.

Please visit the Red Cross House, 15 Penang Lane, Singapore 236486, from 9am to 6pm on Mondays to Fridays.

Cheque:

Please make your cheque payable to "Singapore Red Cross Society"; indicate "Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund", donor's name, contact number and address at the back; and post it to Red Cross House, 15 Penang Lane, Singapore 236486.
