TV host Ah Xiang's cheating scandal: Did wife hint at infidelity?

Does this spell the end of Ah Xiang's eight-year marriage to former model Grace Kung?

Photos of Golden Bell Award-winning hosts Ah Xiang and Cheryl Hsieh kissing in public have gripped Taiwan showbiz since they were circulated yesterday (June 12).

Eagle-eyed fans now speculate that Grace knew of his infidelity since at least early May, based on a Facebook post.

On May 2, she uploaded a photo of a pair of sneakers and likened comfortable shoes to a suitable spouse.

"Have the courage to get rid of shoes that do not fit, cause blisters and pain, and hurt you," Grace wrote, accompanied by a hashtag, "Never be hard on yourself."

She cancelled a public event after the news broke, concerned that it would overshadow the event, but has not addressed the scandal directly.

Ah Xiang, meanwhile, met the media yesterday with a half-baked apology, implying that the physical intimacy with Cheryl was a result of their close friendship.

According to Apple Daily Taiwan, the member of music and comedy act Plungon broke down on his way home after work. It was reported that he was seen crying in his car.

They further reported that he is now fighting to avoid a divorce. The couple have two daughters and one son.

Likewise, Cheryl has come forward with a statement.

She apologised and admitted that she had "allowed their friendship to change" and "crossed boundaries that should not be crossed".

She added that she accepted all the criticism directed at her and promised to reflect on her actions. She has stopped all work and been instructed by her company to not contact Ah Xiang.

Plungon's food and travel show Super Taste has been airing in Singapore for several years.

Cheryl, a music major known for her wacky hosting style, shared a Golden Bell with Ah Xiang for their work on Variety Get Together.
