70mai's Dash Cam Omni is a rather novel smart dash camera with an intriguing party trick. It has a 140° field-of-view and a two-phase stepper motor that enables 340° of swivel, resulting in 360° of coverage.

The camera is designed to deliver 1080p footage at 60 fps with well-illuminated surroundings and visible license plates at all times, even in low light conditions like in expressway tunnels; all thanks to its wide F1.5 aperture and PureCel Plus-S HDR tech.

The Omni will detect and record up to five seconds prior to and 10 seconds after impact to ensure that you don't miss a crucial moment. You can also trigger an emergency recording in the event you need to record an incident.

While the ability to rotate is a party trick to some extent — it can be used for voice-activated vlog clips and selfies — the camera can be commandeered to take recordings of happenings on your left or right on command, and can be used to track suspicious people when the vehicle is parked.

To get the most out of this feature, you'll need the hardwire kit to keep the camera powered around the clock. You'll then enable useful features like monitoring with a time-lapse recording (which saves power too) and parking surveillance powered by AI motion and collision detection.

In the latter mode, the camera can identify and record suspicious personnel approaching your vehicle, for up to one minute. If a collision occurs on the side, the camera will automatically rotate to the impacted side and record continuously for up to 30 seconds.

The 4G version of the hardwire kit provides even more functionality by giving you the ability to monitor your vehicles remotely and control the camera via the 70mai app.

You can also sync your recordings to the cloud (520MB of storage free) and receive real-time app alerts whenever something suspicious happens or if, say,  the battery is low. In addition, you can link up with the built-in GPS to locate your vehicle wherever it is and access its route history via the app.

The Omni is also equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which is a pretty nifty feature to have if your car isn't equipped with one. Omni's ADAS offers front car, lane departure, and pedestrian passing alerts, which offer an additional layer of preventive safety measures.
