Activision Blizzard has confirmed a new Call of Duty game will be announced in the coming months.
It's not yet known if the upcoming offering from developer Infinity Ward will be a sequel to Modern Warfare 3, but Activision has said the game will be revealed by June 30.
On the publisher's earnings call this week, management confirmed the exciting news and added that the team feels "incredibly good" about how work is unfolding for the new title.
Meanwhile, boss Coddy Johnson also teased the possibility of the company supporting the unknown game's release with extra content after launch to keep players engaged.
He said: "We need to do even more to maintain the breadth of our Call of Duty player base beyond the launch quarters.
"The Call of Duty team is hard at work on that for this fall's big content release, excitement for which is incredibly high around the organisation.
"We expect that both the launch and the post-launch will bring game-changing experiences to our fans."
Gamers haven't been told a great deal about the upcoming title, but Activision has previously confirmed it will feature a campaign mode, which was absent from last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in favour of a battle royale mode.
In other news, it was announced that the Call of Duty series has now old more than 300 million copies since its launch in 2003.
