Last Friday (May 19), Asus unveiled that they are about to release their versions of Nvidia's latest mid-range graphics cards, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and GeForce RTX 4060.

In typical Asus fashion, they are about to spoil consumers and gamers with choice because both cards will be available in ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, Dual and Dual White variants.

As of the announcement, Asus has yet to share the actual release date and retail pricing of all these cards with us but we will have a follow-up article with those information once we receive them. However, Asus has mentioned that they will be releasing the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti variants first with the GeForce RTX 4060 following at a later date.

Also, if we were to rely on Nvidia's official release date for both cards where the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (8GB) will arrive on May 24 and the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (16GB) and GeForce RTX 4060 coming in July, Asus' release date window should be around that same time.

As for pricing, Nvidia states that the GeForce RTX 4060 will start at $480, while the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (8GB) will start at $639 and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (16GB) will start at $800, so Asus' cards should also float around those figures.

Similar to their variants of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 which they released in April, Asus will be offering overclocked (OC) and non-overclocked (non-OC) editions of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060.

On top of that, if you noticed, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will be available in 8- and 16GB VRAM versions, which will also get the ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, Dual, and Dual White treatment.

Both the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 cards are based on the latest Ada Lovelace architecture and are designed for gamers and creators who are on a budget but yet still want the performance that enables them to play games at 1080p at 100 frames per second with Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) 3 technology, third-generation ray-tracing and eighth-generation Nvidia Encoder (NVENC) with AV1 encoding.

So now, let us take a look at how Asus has tweaked the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti when it comes to their ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, Dual and Dual White variants.

As we have come to expect, the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4060 Ti sits right at the top of the hierarchy. It sports that recognisable cyberpunk-ish design, which we have seen on the rest of the ROG Strix RTX 40-series cards.

It has also been put on a diet and the ROG Strix variation has a 3.1-slot design and is only 311.4mm long, making it compatible with most PC cases. Besides a smaller size, the ROG Strix variant also uses less power as it only needs a single 8-pin power connector.

In terms of cooling, the ROG Strix comes with the MaxContact heatsink and three new 11-blade Axial-tech fans, which are said to push 21 per cent more air volume. Additionally, there is a large vented backplate to further dissipate heat from the card. Asus has also mentioned that with its 0dB technology, the card will be completely silent under lighter workloads.

As mentioned earlier, the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will be available in the OC and non-OC editions. The main difference between the cards will be in the clock speed where the non-OC edition will have a default clock speed of 2,535MHz and can reach 2,565MHz in OC mode while the OC edition has a default clock speed of 2,685MHz and can reach 2,715Mhz in OC mode.

If you prefer a graphics card that is less flashy, then the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti could be the variant for you. It sports a slightly thicker heatsink but is actually shorter compared to the ROG Strix variant as it is only 300mm in overall length.

This variant of the card has a slightly larger 3.12-slot footprint but that is due to a wide vent on the high-strength aluminium backplate that helps to improve airflow. Speaking of cooling, the card also sports three of the new 11-blade Axial-tech fans.

On the performance front, the non-OC edition of the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti shares the same default and OC clock speeds as the ROG Strix variant. However, the OC edition has slightly lower clock speeds with a 2,625MHz default clock speed that reaches up to 2,655MHz in OC mode.

Last but not least, there is the Asus Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti that comes in black or white. Again, drawing the same design cues from the other Asus Dual cards, these feature a semi-transparent view of the heatsink at the top of the card.

While this might be the mainstream variant, Asus did not skimp on the features as it has a vented aluminium backplate, 0dB technology, and two latest 11-blade Axial-tech fans.

Performance-wise, the non-OC edition of the Asus Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is the same as the other two variants. The OC edition also has lower clock speeds compared to the other two cards with a 2,565MHz default speed that reaches up to 2,595MHz in OC mode.
