Campus Game Fest 2019 to assemble all things gaming at the Singapore Indoor Stadium

Esports tournaments are a dime a dozen, but Campus Game Fest (CGF) has always been intriguing due to its sheer magnitude and ambition.
Now hitting its seventh year in the running, the festival has expanded beyond the confines of its longtime venue ITE Central (and a foray into Suntec) to find the grandest site it could find: the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
For the uninitiated, CGF is run by the Singapore CyberSports & Online Gaming Association (SCOGA), the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), and People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM), with the CyberAthlete Professional League holding co-organisation credit. What the festival actually focuses on is all things digital lifestyle — so that means a tonne of video games.
CGF claims itself to be the biggest offline gathering of Singapore gaming communities across various game genres, titles, and platforms — and it’s hard to argue against that declaration. The two-day event is jam-packed with esports tournaments and gaming exhibitions. Attendees can take on each other through the likes of Dota Underlords, PUBG Mobile, and even VR staple Beat Saber.

The Campus Legends tourney, for one, will have the top gamers from across Singapore’s tertiary institutions competing for $10,000 worth of scholarships and prizes.
Particular highlights include a Nintendo Switch Zone (where folks can try out classic titles) and a high-tech Acer Thronos gaming setup for an immersive PUBG experience. Oh, and a pair of very lucky geeks stand a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Shanghai to attend The International when our friends from livestream channel WELP Tonight reveal the winners of Logitech's lucky draw.
The usual suspects aside, CGF will also feature a tabletop section, where there’ll be a Magic: The Gathering Arena showcase for beginners as well as a tournament. Surprisingly, there’s also a segment for The Singaporean Dream card game. Not exactly a competitive sport, but great fun nonetheless.
The festival kicks off on Aug 3. Tickets are free anyway, so you might as well check it out. Details available here.
