Farewell to Cybermind Computer House, one of Sim Lim Square’s more iconic tenants

Pour one out for one of Sim Lim Square’s most stalwart tenants. After 21 years at the tech mecca, Cybermind is officially ceasing all operations.

In a Facebook post, the beloved retailer of computer parts and accessories announced that the boss has decided to retire, and apparently, won’t be naming any new successors to take over the business.

As such, all operations will end “with immediate effect”. Any other entity with similar names (presumably, Global Cybermind Technologies) aren’t affiliated at all with Cybermind Computer House Pte Ltd, they clarified.

“We wish to take this opportunity to thank our customers, suppliers and colleagues for your wonderful support and company in this magnificent journey for 21 years,” Cybermind wrote on Facebook.

As one of the biggest tenants at Sim Lim Square, Cybermind was known to stock a colossal range of tech products, including graphics cards, hard-to-find PC cases, liquid coolers, keyboards, mice, and more. Though its range of items may veer towards the pricier side in comparison to other Sim Lim stores, folks were fond of the attentive and friendly customer service at Cybermind. Plus, it was CaseTrust-accredited, which meant that the store won’t be scamming customers like some notorious Sim Lim Square retailers.

With the mall undergoing a collective sale soon and the shifting trend towards online shopping here, perhaps it’s for the best. After all, there’s always Sim Lim Square’s upcoming e-commerce platform that'll go live next month.
