Huawei's latest addition to the Nova series of smartphones, the Nova 7i will be available for pre-order in Singapore from March 5 in Midnight Black and Sakura Pink.

Huawei says the Nova 7i will bring with it a number of improvements over the 5T launched late last year.

Check out our review of the Nova 5T here.

The Nova 7i is powered by Kirin 810 Octa-Core chipset (first used on the Honor 9X series) and has a larger battery capacity than the 5T at 4,200mAh.

There is also fast charging with the 40W Huawei SuperCharge that allows the 7i to be charged up to 70 per cent in just 30 minutes.

The 6.4-inch LCD display has a screen resolution of 2,310 x 1,080 pixels.

There is the common 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory with the device supporting Nano Memory (NM) cards up to 256GB in capacity.

Like other Huawei smartphones of late, the quad-cameras in the Nova 7i allow advanced camera performance with AI enhancements.

The camera system includes a 48MP Main Camera, an 8MP Ultra Wide Angle Lens, a 2MP Macro Lens and a 2MP Bokeh Lens.

It enables users to capture wider, clearer and closer shots in most scenarios like a handheld night mode.

Given the current relations between China and the USA, Huawei's new phones like the Nova 7i will be using the company's latest Huawei EMUI 10 interface that's designed off the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

That means you don't get Google Mobile Services (GMS), although it's still an Android-based phone and is compatible with most Android apps in the market.

Instead, you'll get Huawei Mobile Service (HMS) using the Huawei AppGallery - just like their Mate 30 Pro.

Proclaimed as the world's third-largest app store, the Huawei AppGallery is available pre-installed on all Huawei mobile devices and comes with full-cycle security and protection, including developer real-name verification and four-step review process for secure app operation.

While not all apps are yet listed on the AppGallery, there are many official and compatible means to get your Android apps and services working on the Nova 7i as we've listed here.

Here's a quick video of the process too:-
