One week after announcing the smaller and cheaper Switch Lite, Nintendo quietly released an updated Switch model with longer battery life.
There is no press or news release on the updated model, except for a product page that compares the battery performance of the two Switch models against the Switch Lite. The updated model has a product serial number starting with "XKW" and boasts approximately 4.5 hours to 9 hours of game play.
In comparison, the older model with serial number starting with "XAW" has a battery life of between 2.5 hours to 6.5 hours. The Switch Lite can last between 3 to 7 hours of game play on a single charge.
The updated Switch has the same retail price of US$299.99 (S$408.10).
