Are you tired of watching yourself wreak havoc on people with vile plagues? Have you ever wondered what it would be like on the opposite side of the fence? Well, here's your chance.

The developers of the popular pandemic creation sim, Plague Inc. announced in a recent news release that they are in the midst of devising an "anti-pandemic" mode, for lack of a better description. Rather than trying to drive humanity to extinction, players will instead be trying to save it by stopping a pandemic in its tracks.

Developed in tandem with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network, and other partners, this work-in-progress game mode will have players making use of various measures to curb the spread of the virus, including triaging, quarantines, boosting healthcare facilities and even social distancing.

Now, it all sounds really interesting, not to mention morbid considering the current Covid-19 situation, but I have to admit it does put a refreshing spin on a game that's been a one-trick pony for the most part.

Unfortunately, we still don't have a specific release date at the moment, but the developers have already mentioned that the update will be free for all players when it arrives. In the meantime, stay safe!
