Pornhub is helping to clear up ocean plastics with its dirtiest (literally and figuratively) video ever

It’s 2019 and the world’s biggest pornography site is pitching in to bring awareness to the plastic pollution problem. That’s just the world we live in right now.
Look, I’m not saying that you should switch your VPN on and curtail Singapore’s prevailing internet laws, but nobody said that saving the Earth’s oceans would be easy.
In a campaign launched earlier this week, Pornhub pledged to make a donation to Ocean Polymers — a non-profit looking into sustainable solutions to remove and process ocean waste — for every single view of its dirtiest (figuratively and literally) smut video.
In case any of you aspiring environmental activists and researchers can’t seem to do your civic duty, the video stars amateur outdoor porn couple Leolulu doing the deed in one of the world’s dirtiest beaches. But there’s an even trashier twist! The view of the couple’s fun time in the sun is obscured by plastic waste. The racy shenanigans progressively get visible as more and more plastic garbage gets cleaned up.

“Ocean pollution has grown to become of the most significant global issues of our lifetime, and it's only getting worse,” asserted Pornhub vice president Corey Price in a statement.
“That's why it's imperative that we use our platform to raise awareness and inspire change — not just for the time being but for generations to come. We're dirty here at Pornhub, but that doesn't mean our beaches need to be.”
Seeing that the site has grossed well over 100 million visits each day, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Ocean Polymer might be getting a giant cheque by the end of the campaign.

“The initiative and support from Pornhub is inspired and appreciated. Whilst I'm sure for some it may not initially appear like the most obvious match for our project, we are thrilled that Pornhub has engaged with us and displayed a commitment to utilising their voice and reach for positive action,” commented Ocean Polymers executive director Heather Wigglesworth.
“This is a brand with significant global reach spanning all demographics, so it is a very effective platform to raise awareness and support for the crisis we face in our oceans today.”
Of course, you don’t have to watch the eco-porn clip, but you can still do your part by learning how to reduce your personal plastic usage and waste.

Aside from being the world’s top facilitator in getting off, the pornography behemoth is actually no stranger to saving the Earth. Just earlier this year, Pornhub launched a charity campaign through a new erotic genre called Beesexual in its efforts to save the world’s bee population.
Back in 2014, Pornhub pledged to plant one tree in the United States for every 100 videos viewed on the site's Big D*** category in an Arbor Day campaign appropriately called Give America Wood. Thing is, I can't find any follow-up information that the site carried out their past promises, but let's just hope that their campaigns are actually doing some good in the world.
