The new Samsung A14 5G replaces the A13 5G and maintains the company's presence in the $300-ish price bracket.

Essentially, it's a minor upgrade to keep Samsung's budget offering in line, performance-wise. It gets a faster processor (presumably Exynos) along with an improved 50 megapixel main camera with an F1.8 aperture (from F2.2 on the A13). It's the front camera that receives the biggest upgrade: 13 megapixel (F2.0) over an eight megapixel (F2.2) module on the A13.

Other than that, the phone checks off pretty much the usual boxes and is pretty similar to the A13 5G variant sold here:

  • Adaptive 90Hz display: Check.
  • Large 6.6-inch, FHD+ resolution screen (A13 5G has 6.5-inch screen): Check.
  • Large battery (5,000mAh): Check.
  • 6GB RAM: Check.
  • 128GB with microSD expansion: Check.

On top of that, Samsung guarantees up to two generations of Android OS upgrades and up to four years of security updates.

The Galaxy A14 5G ($318) is now available in three colourways, dark red, black and silver via the Samsung experience store, Samsung online store, Samsung official store in Lazada and Shopee, and selected consumer electronics & IT online stores (Best Denki, Challenger, Courts, Gain City, Harvey Norman).
