Sony won't hold a press conference at Tokyo Game Show this year

Sony won't have a press conference at this year's Tokyo Game Show.
Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia has outlined its plans for the event — which will be held in at Chiba's Makuhari Messe from September 12 to 15 — and while it will still showcase plenty of titles at the PlayStation booth, there will be no official conference.
On the company's Japanese site, it was revealed the gaming giant's focus will be on unreleased titles like the Final Fantasy VII remake, Nioh 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, as well as a whole range of other games available to try out at the industry gathering.
Sony will still hold a live stage event offering demo gameplays of new titles by game creators which "will be distributed live from the booth".

The latest news comes after Sony decided to skip E3 entirely this year, which marked the first time it didn't take part since joining the industry back in the mid-1990s.
A rep said at the time: "PlayStation fans mean the world to us and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019."
Meanwhile, Sony also opted against hosting its annual PlayStation Experience for 2019.
