TikTok teams up with National Youth Council for video challenge #BuayPaiseh

It’s an unexpected team-up. One is a globally recognised short-form video platform filled with irreverent clips and meme-worthy content. The other is a national coordinating agency for youth affairs.

But hey, it’s real. TikTok and the National Youth Council have partnered up to issue a challenge to the young folks: display their passion and talents in public. All to be recorded on video and shared on TikTok, of course.

The hashtag challenge is called #buaypaiseh, and local influencers are on board. The likes of rapper ShiGGa Shay, YouTuber JianHao Tan, and viral filmmaker Jaze Phua got the ball rolling already.

Three of the most creative videos stand to walk away with a pair of $500 Scoot vouchers each, so I’d say go all-in on this one. Contestants have to create a video on TikTok and showcase their talent in a public space to the tune of ShiGGa’s track “Paiseh 15secs”. Include that hashtag #huaypaiseh too. Contest ends on Aug 2, 11.59pm.

Don't forget to keep it wholesome though (it is a government-led initiative after all), and don’t be cringe-worthy enough to make it to a viral YouTube compilation.
