Anthony Wong and Edison Chen reunite after 21 years in Malaysian CNY movie

Hong Kong actors Anthony Wong and Edison Chen are reuniting for the first time in 21 years in the 2027 Malaysian Chinese New Year movie Temple of Wishes.

The duo has starred in multiple films together, including in the popular Infernal Affairs series.

They last acted in the 2005 movie Initial D, where Anthony, now 65, had taken Edison as his godson.

While the former has remained active in showbiz, Edison, who turns 46 next month, has kept a low profile in recent years, focusing on managing his own streetwear brand Clot.

His last acting project was the movie The Shadow Play (2019), which reportedly began filming in 2016.

In a livestream for Clot, Edison revealed he would be heading to Malaysia to film a movie and admitted to feeling nervous about returning to the big screen.

Temple of Wishes held its opening ceremony in Penang on Thursday (Sept 17) and the duo snapped photos together for local media. 

Sinchew Daily said the movie will also be shot in Kuala Lumpur, China and Italy.

Filming began on Sept 7 and is expected to wrap up this month.
