Christopher Lee on his plans after winning award

Was winning the award on your mind the whole night before it was announced?

Christopher Lee: Being seated in front and seeing everyone go up made me nervous initially, but after a while, I didn't think about winning anymore.

I'm very happy that I've won especially since this is a big award in the Asian TV arena. It's an affirmation of my hard work so far and I'm grateful to have been recognised.

You mentioned on stage while collecting the award that this character was a challenge to play.

Could you elaborate?

Lee: When I first saw the script, I knew it was not easy because this character (Shao-wen) is not one who expresses himself, so I had to understand him and figure out how to flesh out the nuances, how to portray what he was feeling without using too much body language.

It was a difficult role because I had to think about his interaction with his wife and family.

What are you busy with now?

Lee: I have received requests to be in movies and television shows and I am filming a show in Taiwan.

There's a movie coming soon, so I'll be running all over the place.

Any plans to make a big move into movies?

Lee: I'm definitely open to taking on movie projects, as long as the script and team are good. It can be anywhere.

Any plans to relocate permanently to Taiwan?

Lee: Not for now. I will still live in Singapore and head out for work because of my family.

I've discussed it with Fann before. This way, she can bring Zed out when I'm working and vice versa. Or maybe we will shuttle him back and forth, I'm not sure yet.
