Did Keanu Reeves really call himself a 'lonely guy'? Publicist claims interview was 'fabricated'

Is Keanu Reeves a "lonely guy"?

While many of us would gladly chase his blues away in a heartbeat, we might need to press pause on that thought.

According to Keanu's publicist, that report - which was published on Malaysian publication Star2 on May 28 - might have been "fabricated".

When asked what love meant to him, the 54-year-old actor replied in the story: "You know, I’m the lonely guy. I don’t have anyone in my life."

A spokeswoman for Keanu has since spoken out through HuffPost, stating: "“This interview did not happen.

"This was pieced together from several interviews and the majority of these questions were not asked nor answered. They are fabricated."

In response to claims however, the writer, Star2's US correspondent Philip Berk, hit back that he did interview the star at a press conference for Keanu's upcoming movie, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.

The press conference was held in April at the Four Seasons New York.

But he clarified that the quote came from a previous interview with Keanu.

Berk is a member (and former president) of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and a journalist with over 40 years of experience.

He has also refuted the "unverified allegation that he fabricated any of his interviews with the actor".

Meanwhile, aside from the third instalment of the John Wick series, Keanu can also be seen playing a satirical version of himself in the Netflix Original movie, Always Be My Maybe.

Regardless of whether the quote was fabricated, though, we believe it won't be hard to find willing contenders to fill the void in his life.
