Seems like BTS may finally have company soon, in the form of a new label-mate.
Since last December, rumour has it that K-pop group BTS' parent company, Big Hit Entertainment, has plans to debut a new group in 2019. So it was no surprise that fans went crazy when Big Hit Entertainment dropped a cryptic tweet on Wednesday night (Jan 9).
The tweet, which read, "What do you do? What do you see?" led fans to a website with a Venn diagram and a countdown clock.
Since its posting, it has already amassed 100,000 retweets and likes with many fans expressing their excitement for the new group. In fact, it triggered some to start doing their own investigative work even Sherlock Holmes would be proud of.
Eagled-eyed fans have resorted to changing time zones and checking the source codes of the mysterious website, only to unveil that it's made for a "new boy group".
There was also a sudden treasure hunt as fans scoured the internet to find the official accounts of the new group. Speculations about locked accounts with the handle txt_bighit kick started theories of the group's origins.
While Big Hit has tried to brush off rumours, stating that there has been no confirmation that there was a new group called 'TXT', it didn't do anything to quench the thirst of the fans.
Others drew parallels to the moon's eclipse, a reference to the two converging circles in the website.
While others tried to guess the date of the group's debut.
But what is clear is that the hype for these rookies is definitely huge and could be the next global sensation like BTS.
As the time on the clock continues ticking, fans are left to wait patiently for what seems like Big Hit's most ambitious project yet. We can't wait to see what they have planned!
