Former child star Raquel Lee Bolleau is suing Disney over allegations of sexual assault

Former child star Raquel Lee Bolleau is suing The Walt Disney Company over allegations of sexual assault.

The 39-year-old actress has alleged that she was assaulted by a now-former Disney employee during filming for Disney Channel movie The Poof Point when she was just 14 years old.

As reported by People magazine, Bolleau has made claim in a civil negligence lawsuit against Disney.

The complaint was filed on Friday (Aug 21) in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Her attorneys, Douglas Wigdor and Jane Kim, told People in a statement: "Over the last decade, countless child actors have come forward to bravely share their experiences of abuse by adults in entertainment.

"As former government prosecutors, our message to the entertainment industry is simple:

"This conduct is inexcusable, and those involved — directly or indirectly — must be held accountable."

It's alleged in the lawsuit that Bolleau was repeatedly sexually assaulted by the middle-aged male employee, who has not been named.

The former Amanda Show star has claimed the unnamed man gave her alcohol and assaulted her a number of times while the cast and crew were in Salt Lake City, as well as on the flight back to California.

Bolleau has also claimed Disney didn't do enough to protect her, alleging that she was told to "bond" and spend time with the employee.

She was also allegedly separated from her guardian on set and not given an appropriate level of supervision.

The actress claimed that the man "would torment" her on set, including whispering "last night was so good" with other adults around.

Bolleau has alleged that "no one at Disney intervened".

She has claimed the studio didn't investigate in the situation, despite other adults working on the movie noticing how her behaviour and performance had changed.

She compared her appearance as sick and intoxicated to "the dedicated, studious and diligent child actress who had joined the movie".

According to Bolleau, she was blamed by Disney bosses for being "out of control", and she lost out on a subsequent role.

She is seeking an unspecified amount of damages for alleged economic losses and emotional distress, in addition to punitive damages, lawyers' fees and other related costs.

Bolleau continued to work with Disney after The Poof Point, taking on a recurring voice role in Disney Channel series The Proud Family.

The show aired from 2001 and 2005, and the star returned from 2022 to 2025 for Disney+ revival The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

She also appeared in 2024 docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, which also featured the likes of Drake Bell, Kyle Sullivan and Alexa Nikolas.
