Josh Hartnett couldn't walk for 10 days while filming Verity due to food poisoning

Josh Hartnett couldn't walk for 10 days while filming Verity.
The 48-year-old actor, who stars alongside Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson in the new psychological erotic thriller film Verity, admitted he was struggling badly during the shoot.
During an appearance on the Front Row podcast, Josh shared: "It was food poisoning, but it was a terrible food poisoning. What it was is that I couldn't walk because my muscles had all seized up.
"It was really only about 10 days that I couldn't walk, honestly."
Michael Showalter, the director of Verity, also has vivid memories of Josh struggling during the shoot.
He explained: "For most of the movie, when Josh wasn't on camera, he was lying down being tended to. Josh was battling some very, very, very serious thing."
Despite this, Josh recently admitted that he relished the experience of working with Dakota and Anne.
He told E! News: "I didn't have anything to come down from at the end of the day.
"We're working with a director who's traditionally worked in comedy, and he has a really good sense of how to make this whole thing work and make this gothic, somewhat thrilling and somewhat sort of horror-ish film, but it didn't translate to the set experience."
Josh explained that he enjoys the company of his co-stars off camera.
He said: "The chemistry was there based off of just friendship and hanging out and enjoying each other's company. Actually, in the middle of some of these darker scenes, there were some laughing fits that just didn't stop."
Anne also enjoyed the experience of working with Josh and Dakota: "It's really cool to work with actors that have such amazing filmographies."
She explained that she barely knew her co-stars before the cameras started rolling.
"I didn't know Dakota very well before this or Josh — we'd met — I showed up really, really, really pumped every day because I just knew what they were capable of as actors.
"I also knew what the script was and I was gonna get to see you guys go to a place that you've never even gone before. So I sometimes feel like that knits the experience together a little bit beforehand."
