Remember My MVP Valentine -- the Taiwanese idol drama that got all of us glued to our TV screens in 2002?

If you thought that was the end of the basketball fever, lead actors Tony Sun and Johnny Yen have just reunited for a one-on-one match in Taipei on Wednesday (March 20).

As the men vied for control over the ball, the speakers blasted the drama's opening and ending songs.

Well, they were actually promoting a street basketball competition that's taking place later this month.

To inspire youths to chase their dreams, Tony, 41, delivered an iconic line from the drama: "Don't give up, or you'll let yourself down."

Aww.

After all, My MVP Valentine did catapult Tony's boy band 5566 and singer-actress Angela Chang to stardom 17 years ago.

If there was anything missing at the reunion, it was Angela - the female lead in the drama's love triangle, Tony said.

It has also been two years since the men met in person -- with Tony busy singing and filming, and Johnny bowing out of the spotlight to concentrate on his basketball career.

At the event, the latter said that he has been approached by a director who has plans to work on a sequel to the hit idol drama.

But before you get too excited, Johnny, 43, said that he'd only guest star in the show.

Is that a sign that he's making a comeback to showbiz? Unfortunately, his answer is, "No, I'm a full-time basketball coach now."

That won't stop fans from hoping, though.
