There were many scenes that moved him in his new K-drama but one stood out to him.

South Korean actor Park Seo-ham stars as Jung Woo-jae in Dive into You, which follows Yoon Ha-na (played by Kim Ji-yeon), a top actress loved in South Korea.

After her childhood friend-turned-bodyguard Woo-jae dies, she obtains a camcorder which throws her back in time with her twin brother Ha-ru (Jang Se-hyuk).

The time-travel causes the twins to switch bodies, and they use their circumstances to attempt to save Woo-jae and prevent his death.

In an interview with AsiaOne, Seo-ham, who turns 33 this month, told us he "couldn't stop crying" while filming one scene with 31-year-old Ji-yeon.

Spoilers ahead.

"I still vividly remember filming the scene where Woo-jae dies for the second time. Ji-yeon did such an incredible job of expressing the grief and despair of losing her first love right before her eyes for the second time that I could feel those emotions even though I had already died and had my eyes closed. I remember tears continuing to fall even with my eyes closed," said the idol-turned-actor.

As for the most challenging scene he had to film, he pointed to his action scenes.

"Judo was an activity I had never tried before, so I faced many difficulties while learning it. I worked hard to coordinate with the action team, and Se-hyuk also had experience with judo, so he was a great help to me on set!" he said.

Since filming action scenes were tough, he felt a sense of accomplishment whenever he pulled them off.

"The director and the action team were very supportive and always encouraged me, and they never held back on their praise whenever I did well, which gave me even more motivation to keep going," he added.

We asked what he would do if he could choose between going back to the past or seeing his future.

"I'd like to see the future! I think there's always a little bit of regret or lingering disappointment about things that have already happened, and rather than dwelling on the past, I'd rather focus on doing better moving forward," said the former boy band KNK member.

"I'd prefer to see the future and use that knowledge to better prepare for the present!"

He also shared a funny and memorable moment he had while filming the show.

"It was during a particularly busy period of filming. While delivering my lines during the final scene we were shooting that day, my voice suddenly wouldn't come out properly, and this funny voice came out instead. I guess my throat was completely worn out because my voice kept cracking," he recalled.

"Everyone tried to hold back their laughter but eventually burst out laughing. That day really stayed in my memory. I think it was even harder to hold back our laughter because the lines were supposed to be serious."

Ji-yeon, also known by her K-pop idol stage name Bona, told us that every day on set felt like a "try-not-to-laugh challenge".

"Every moment was so enjoyable that the hardest part was genuinely trying not to laugh," said the WJSN member.

The scenes where she plays Ha-na after she has switched bodies with Ha-ru are especially funny, she added.

"I remember a date scene with Woo-jae where Ha-na, with Ha-ru inside her, walks toward him in a pretty dress with a bow-legged gait. Everyone burst out laughing, so it was difficult to stay focused," she said.

During such scenes where she plays a man trapped in a woman's body, Ji-yeon said the cast did a lot of group readings before filming.

"We read each other's lines and talked about things like, 'How would Ha-na or Ha-ru act in this scene?' and used those discussions as references," she explained.

They also paid attention to small details such as the way they walked and sat down, and even how they wiped their tears.

"By the latter part of filming, it became much easier, almost to the point where we could hear each other's line delivery in our heads without having to discuss it," she said.

Ji-yeon has an older brother in real life, and we asked if that helped in shaping her relationship with her onscreen sibling Se-hyuk, 26.

"My older brother and I really have the kind of relationship you would call real-life siblings. During filming, when I saw the caring text messages Ha-na and Ha-ru exchange on the phone, I honestly couldn't relate to them that much," she said.

"But because my brother and I are only a year apart, that did help when playing scenes where Ha-na and Ha-ru bicker, and in portraying twins with no age gap."

The two actors also left a message for their fans in Singapore.

Ji-yeon hopes her fans look forward to the series because she showed different sides of herself.

"The set was always full of happy and enjoyable moments, so I hope that good chemistry comes through to fans in Singapore as well," she added.

Seo-ham said: "To all my fans in Singapore! Thank you so much for always supporting me. I visited Singapore last year, and I have such wonderful memories of how beautiful it was.

"If I get the chance, I would love to meet you all in Singapore someday! We worked really hard while filming Dive into You, so I hope you enjoy watching it! It may be a little early, but I wish you all a happy New Year!"

Dive into You is streaming on Viki.
