Pikachu talks in new movie trailer and the Internet is going nuts

He's yellow, fluffy, and cute as a button.

But when the most famous Pokemon opened his mouth in the trailer of upcoming live-action movie Detective Pikachu, many longtime fans were taken aback.

Since when did the critter sound like a snarky man?

When he goes "Pika, pika," he could very well be saying, "Put down the stapler, or I will electrocute you!"

In the movie, Pikachu turns sleuth as he goes on an adventure with Tim Goodman, played by Justice Smith, to locate his dad detective Harry Goodman who has gone missing.

Well, Warner Bro's Pictures is not too far off, considering that Pikachu's design was inspired by a squirrel.

Other popular pocket monsters such as Jigglypuff, Psyduck, and Mr Mime also make an appearance in the film.

And netizens can't decide whether they're excited or disturbed by the trailer.
